Getting Rid of Old Electronics

Remember that Wisconsin law prohibits electronics (including cell phones, computers, keyboards, TVs, VCRs, flash drives, etc.) from Wisconsin landfills. Read more about the law at dnr.wi.gov/ecyclewisconsin . At this website, you can look for locations to dispose of electronics in Racine County. We’ve found the easiest place to recycle most electronics is at Best Buy located at 2710 S. Green Bay Road, Racine (Tel: 888-237-8289).

  • Extra paper & other recyclables should be in clear plastic bags

Emerald Ash Borer Treatments

In 2012 the Village Board partnered with you to protect the ash trees in the Village of North Bay and it’s time to treat them again. The Emerald Ash Borer is in the area and we are seeing that many trees around Racine County that were not treated are now infested and dying.

Affordable Tree Care’s arborist is offering the same discounted price that was offered in 2012 of $8 per dbh inch (diameter by height). It is important to note that the trees will have grown a little, approximately 2 inches each. A new measurement will be done on treatment day and the exact 2014 size will be used for the invoice. For example, a 20″ tree that was $160 in 2012 may have grown approximately 2″ and will now be 22″ x 8 = $176 this year.

Just as we did in 2012, for ash trees lining the streets, the Village will pay 50% of the treatment and the homeowner will pay 50% of the treatment.

For ash trees that are “homeowner” trees (in your yard), you will be responsible for 100% of the treatment, but you will have be charged the discounted price of $8 per dbh inch.

If you wish to proceed with the treatment of your trees, please email Clerk Alix Sanchez at vnbclerk@gmail.com as soon as possible.

Also, if any of your trees have been removed, please let her know so that we can document that on the master list. If you need specific information about what you paid for treatments on your trees, contact Alix by email or phone at 262-681-3773. You will be notified prior to the treatment and billed directly by Affordable Tree Care, LLC.
